Solidarity actions

KEPAKY promotes social contribution and culture through humanitarian, cultural, and heritage-related activities, including the restoration of the Church of the Holy Apostles, charity events, and international solidarity initiatives.

Overview

KEPAKY believes that culture and social contribution are inherently connected. Through artistic expression, tradition, and community activities, the Foundation promotes cultural identity while supporting humanitarian causes.

The restoration of the 14th-century Church of the Holy Apostles in Potamitissa exemplifies this commitment, alongside numerous cultural and charity actions.

Cultural Heritage – Church of the Holy Apostles

  • 14th-century church located in the community of Potamitissa
  • Originally part of the historic village of Rontia
  • Destroyed due to treasure-seeking and restored beginning in 2008
  • Restoration sponsored by the Sofokleous family
  • Wall paintings completed in 2010 by Michael Ebanoidze
  • Today serves as a symbolic gathering place for local communities

  • Humanitarian aid to Beirut (2021)
  • Clothing distribution to Pournara and Kofinou reception centres
  • Donation of clothing and toys to an orphanage in occupied Nicosia

Autism

KEPAKY has been active in the field of Autism since 2010, creating and equipping a Model Center for Employment, Care, and Therapy in Limassol. The Foundation continues to support individuals and families and has produced a Practical Guide for Individuals with Autism, updated regularly.

Yellow line

The “Yellow Line of Help and Solidarity” is one of KEPAKY’s signature programs, launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to support individuals and families facing socio-economic hardship. What began as a volunteer initiative under exceptional circumstances has evolved into a lifeline for thousands of households across Cyprus, offering food assistance, essential goods, and free psychological and social support.

Study aids

The Study Assistance Program provides educational opportunities and scholarships to young people from families facing socio-economic challenges, enabling them to continue their studies. For over 16 years, KEPAKY has offered financial support exceeding €300,000 to students based on academic and social criteria.

Clean-up campaigns

KEPAKY declared environmental awareness as its campaign of the year in 2016–2017, launching a nationwide art competition on the theme “The Environment is in Our Hands” and organizing exhibitions and a tree-planting event.
