KEPAKY has been active in the field of Autism since 2010, creating and equipping a Model Center for Employment, Care, and Therapy in Limassol. The Foundation continues to support individuals and families and has produced a Practical Guide for Individuals with Autism, updated regularly.
KEPAKY’s engagement with the autism community began in 2010 with the full creation and equipment of a Model Center for Employment, Care, and Therapy in Limassol. The center includes specialized equipment for sensory integration, supporting individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, and premature infants. Since October 2010, its operation has been managed by the Cyprus Autism Association, but KEPAKY continues to actively support the center and families.
Recognizing the limited availability of information in Cyprus regarding rights, legislation, and therapies for individuals with autism, KEPAKY created a Practical Guide for Individuals with Autism in 2011, which is regularly updated to reflect new developments.
Program Features
The program helps bridge important gaps in support and information for individuals with autism, offering families valuable resources and improved access to services.
KEPAKY organizes an annual Blood Donation Drive and collaborates with the Karaiskakio Foundation and AEL FC on bone marrow donor sample collections, raising awareness about the importance of saving lives through donation.
KEPAKY declared environmental awareness as its campaign of the year in 2016–2017, launching a nationwide art competition on the theme “The Environment is in Our Hands” and organizing exhibitions and a tree-planting event.
KEPAKY’s Psychological Support Program provides free individual sessions and experiential workshops for children, adolescents, and adults facing social, emotional, or family difficulties.
“A Hand to Youth” promotes the value of volunteering among young people by offering vouchers for food, clothing, and footwear to children and youth facing difficult conditions during Christmas and Easter. Since 2012, more than 3,500 families have been supported with €500,000 in aid.
