KEPAKY addresses the prevention of substance use through initiatives such as the 2009 KEPAKY Basketball Camp, educational workshops, and parent-focused lectures, supporting healthy youth development and community awareness.
Acknowledging the dangers posed by addictive substances, KEPAKY launched its first major prevention initiative in 2009 with the “KEPAKY Basketball Camp,” aimed at encouraging children aged 8–17 to engage in sports and avoid risky behaviors. The camp offered supervised basketball training, seminars, and workshops supported by the Cyprus Youth Board (ONEK).
Children also attended workshops organized by the Cyprus Police on road safety, and sessions on violence in sports stadiums delivered by psychologists from the Educational Psychology Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
