Andreas Sofocleous

Andreas Sofocleous is widely recognized in Cyprus as a lawyer, entrepreneur, and former president of AEL Football Club, which he led for nearly 15 years. In 2008, driven by his deep belief in solidarity, equal rights, and social responsibility, he founded KEPAKY — an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals and strengthening communities across Cyprus.

Raised in a hardworking rural family, Andreas grew up with strong values: kindness, fairness, respect, and unwavering commitment to helping others. After establishing a successful legal career — graduating with distinction from his law studies in the Soviet Union — he founded his own law firm, now known as ANDREAS M. SOFOCLEOUS & CO. LLC.

His philanthropic work is broad and impactful. Beyond supporting students through financial assistance, Andreas has contributed to:

• School development projects
• Assistance for athletes
• Community support in his hometown, Pelendri
• Inclusion initiatives for individuals with disabilities
• Environmental protection programs
• Aid for families affected by war
• Educational and economic integration programs for Ukrainian refugees

One of his most influential initiatives is the “Yellow Line”, launched in 2020 during the pandemic. Since then, it has continued to provide essential food packages to thousands of vulnerable households across Cyprus.
